Chester Originals Art Show Friday 27th & Saturday 28th October
I’ve got an art stand at Originals@Chester Town Hall, a show put on by Artists who range from fine art to hand made jewellery and ceramics. This is one of the Sea Sprays that will be for sale and I’ll have a number of small original paintings as well as some limited edition prints and a new range from the black & white collection.
This is the first time for me so I’m excited. Bit of a journey from Gilwern, South Wales but hopefully will catch up with some old friends who live that way too and Chester is a beautiful City.
It’s a free event and looking at the other Artists works, it looks great. So come along to say Hi

Along the riverbank – a new big round painting
Walking along the riverbank where the reeds entwine with wild iris. It’s a crisp day where you can see your breath but the sun is shines through the misty morning. Big round painting on birchwood with copper trim – hope you like 🙂

Where Lillies Dream showing at Oriel CRiC Gallery
This is a close up of a couple of Lillies in the painting ‘Where Lillies Dream’ It’s part of the new black & white collection which I’m currently exploring and having lots of fun with. Black & White giclee print that I’ve hand embellished with inks, 24ct gold leaf and a little touch of pink and irridescent water sparkles 🙂
Where Lillies Dream amd Exotically Black are in the new Art Exhibition at Oriel CRiC Gallery, Crickhowell. It’s a really lovely Gallery and well worth a visit.
Royal Welsh Show July 24th – 27th
I’m a member of Made in Monmouthshire and there are 13 artists on the MIM Stand at The Royal Welsh Show from jewellery, textile, hand woven shawls, glass, ceramics, photography and paintings. Never done before as been living in Australia until recently but very excited. I’m on duty on the Thursday.
The breadth of art of the Made in Monmouthshire Artists is really amazing and I’m proud to have found them and be part of it all in our new life and adventures in Wales.
I’ve got a number of limited edition giclee prints framed and unframed and some of my rare Sea Sprays and little garden original artworks will be there too. I say rare as they take me ages to create and I haven’t started any more so when I do they will be ready next year 😉 There are also some Art Scarves and Arty Tote Bags on sale at the show, printed from original paintings.

The Deep Blue Ocean tryptic
The 3 Sea Sprays named the Deep Blue Ocean and my take on the beautiful powerful sea. Â Created by painting many layers of inks between layers of a non-toxic type resin on beechwood.
I’ve entered these into the Crickhowell Oriel Gallery Art Competition – not sure if they will be accepted yet but if they are they’ll be on view and for sale late May through to June in the Gallery.
Each Sea Spray is 25cm x 20cm –Â Hope you likex
Scarves here we come
One of 5 scarves I’ve had printed from my original paintings – this one is Oriental II and 140cm, slightly transparent and would look terrific as a sarong or wrapped around you as a creative top or draped around your neck or even as a head scalf.
Available now so please email me@sallymills.gallery or will be up on the ‘shop’ section soon.
Wild Irises – along the river bank
The three Irises are part of my new exploration of what lies and lives along the waterways.  It’s my abstract take on the dark tangle of reeds and grasses and then the beautiful iris popping their heads up, having a look around whilst in the comfort of the bank – there’s a slight breeze and it’s a bit chilly but it’s a clear sky and there’s lots going on along the river bank and it’s a good day 😉
